Comfort & TechnologyYour comfort, safety and well-being are our first priority. For example, in place of traditional x-rays we use digital radiography—a new technique that allows us to reduce the amount of radiation to which you are exposed to by as much as 90 percent. |

When your teeth or gums have been damaged by disease or accidents, we can provide a wide range of services to restore your smile to the way they should be. We use only tooth-colored fillings and offer veneers, bonding or other procedures to keep your smile attractive.
Dr. Krikorian has extensive training and experience with dental implants. Implants make it possible for replacement teeth, including dentures, to retain 90 percent of their natural biting force. They can make replacement teeth feel like your natural teeth and can help prevent bone loss in your jaw.

When permanent teeth are lost, regardless of the reason or number of teeth, dental implants can offer a “new lease on life.” They are superior to other choices because they are solid, secure, and esthetic. After nearly 35 years of use, they have a 90-95% proven success rate in appropriately chosen cases.
An implant is a special surgical grade titanium post, manufactured to highly precise specifications, under strict sterile conditions, that is inserted surgically into the jawbone . With the use of the newest anesthetics and medications you need not be concerned about pain. As the bone bonds to the post, it forms a secure foundation onto which your new teeth are then attached and shaped to match your mouth. The number of teeth being replaced will determine the best kind of restoration for you. Implants can help replace a single tooth, or a full set of teeth. If you have been suffering with partial or full dentures, or are missing teeth, or feel you need teeth extracted, do not hesitate to call to be evaluated for implants.
If you're self-conscious about your smile due to cracked, broken, decayed or worn teeth, we can bring back your healthy, natural-looking smile with crowns. A filling can restore a small defect in a tooth, but a crown is the most durable, strongest way to restore a tooth with extensive damage, front or back for the long term. With all the materials and techniques modern dentistry has to offer, crowns can be totally natural looking.
Additional benefits of crowns are correcting bite problems, closing spaces between teeth, changing the angulations of teeth, and they can be used to replace missing teeth permanently, as part of a bridge, or over an implant.
A root canal is usually performed on a cracked tooth or a tooth with decay or cavity that has reached the nerve or pulp of the tooth. Decay can come from the top of the tooth ( or chewing surface), or from the bottom of the tooth, around the roots of the tooth. Once bacteria has managed to reach the pulp of the tooth, it cannot be removed. The pulp contains nerves, blood vessels and tissue which provide nourishment to the tooth. This entire pulp once affected by bacteria must be cleaned out of the tooth canal or canals.
Once the decayed tooth has been anesthetized, the dentist makes an access or hole through the top part of the tooth and into the pulp chamber. The dentist will then use tiny filling instruments to clean, and shape the canal or canals while removing the diseased tissue and bacteria. The canal or canals are cleaned, disinfected and filled with a material to prevent future infection. The access or hole in the tooth is then restored with a crown, filling, or possibly an onlay or inlay.
However, if the tooth is unable to be properly removed, or if bacteria has damaged the tooth beyond repair, the tooth may have to be extracted.
Many people desire a brighter, cleaner, more attractive smile, but have chipped, stained, discolored, unevenly spaced, or even slightly crooked front teeth. If this sounds like you, we will be glad to help evaluate your specific situation, listen to the exact changes you have in mind, and show you examples of the end result, before any treatment is performed.
Often, porcelain veneers can provide a completely improved and dazzling smile in just a few appointments.
The actual treatment usually involves only two visits. The number of pre-operative visits, to work out details to insure predictable results, depends on the complexity of your situation and the changes you desire. There usually is a follow up visit or two for final adjustments and polishing, and to review instructions for care of your new smile to insure it lasts years and years.

Your Invisalign treatment will consist of a series of aligners that you switch out about every two weeks. Each aligner is individually manufactured with exact calculations to gradually shift your teeth into place. And since your Invisalign system is custom-made for your teeth and your teeth only, with a plan devised by you and your dentist or orthodontist, you know you'll end up with a smile that truly fits.
An inlay or onlay restoration is a custom made filling made of composite material, gold, or tooth-colored porcelain. Porcelain inlays are popular because they resemble your natural tooth. A porcelain inlay is made by a professional dental laboratory and is permanently cemented into the tooth by your dentist.
Inlays can be utilized to conservatively repair teeth that have large defective fillings or have been damaged by decay or trauma. Inlays are an ideal alternative to conventional silver and composite fillings. Also, they are more conservative than crowns because less tooth structure is removed in the preparation of inlays.
As with most dental restorations, inlay are not always permanent and may someday require replacement. They are highly durable and will last many years, giving you a beautiful long lasting smile.
Onlays can be utilized to conservatively repair teeth that have large defective fillings or have been damaged by decay or trauma. Onlays are an ideal alternative to crowns (caps) because less tooth structure is removed in the preparation of onlays. Onlays are essentially identical to inlays with the exception that one or more of the chewing cusps have also been affected and need to be included in the restoration.
As with most dental restorations, onlays are not always permanent and may someday require replacement. They are highly durable and will last many years, giving you a beautiful long lasting smile.
Reasons for Inlay or Onlay restorations:
What does getting an Inlay or Onlay involve?
An inlay procedure usually requires two appointments. Your first appointment will include taking several highly accurate impressions (molds) that will be used to create your custom inlay and a temporary restoration.
While the tooth is numb, the dentist will remove any decay and or old filling materials. The space will then be thoroughly cleaned and carefully prepared, shaping the surface to properly fit an inlay/onlay restoration. A temporary filling will be applied to protect the tooth while your inlay/onlay is made by a dental laboratory.
At your second appointment your new inlay will be carefully and precisely cemented into place. A few adjustments may be necessary to ensure a proper fit and that your bite is comfortable.
You will receive care instruction at the conclusion of your treatment. Good oral hygiene practices, a proper diet, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new inlay or onlay.
A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an excellent way to replace missing teeth.
There are several types of bridges. You and Dr. Krikorian will discuss the best options for your particular case. The “traditional bridge” is the most popular type and is usually made of porcelain fused to metal. Porcelain fixed bridges are most popular because they resemble your natural teeth. This type of bridge consists to two crowns that go over two anchoring teeth (abutment teeth) and are attached to pontics (artificial teeth), filling the gap created by one or more missing teeth.
Dental bridges are highly durable and will last many years, however they may need replacement or need to be re-cemented due to normal wear.
